Edward's old room had been transformed into the headquarters for wedding planning this time around. Bits of fabric lay about the room as Alice contemplated the benefits and disappointments of each. She was trying to figure out which would be the best fabric to use to make her wedding gown out of, which was proving to be the hardest decision of all. She had half a mind to just wear her old dress, then again, this was supposed to be new.
At the moment, though, Alice was escaping the craziness of the wedding plans. She was in her own room: a quiet, bright space. It was clean and uncluttered, unlike when she was in preparations for Bella's wedding. The bed was the only thing that looked a bit unlike usual. Instead of seeing the perfectly flattened comforter, the bed was again covered in a layer of packets, pamphlets, and brochures from various universities. Alice had been searching through them again earlier that day, but she had set that project aside. She had abandoned that focus to enter her large closet and find a dress that was very dear to her. She had slipped the short, white dress out of the protective covering it was housed safely within. She held the material between her fingers, caressing the sacred fabric as her eyes were searching the gentle fabric with her mind lost in sweet memories of the past, though outwardly she would have looked very pensive. It was not too often that Alice's mind was so lost in "visions" of the past. Usually it was the other way around. But this wonderful memory was one she relived many times and much more often than any of the others.
There were two memories which Alice held in her mind with the distinction of being her favorites. The first was the day she met Jasper, that rainy day at that small diner in Philadelphia. The day her life truly began. The second, a remembrance of a courthouse with three others and her beloved. It was their wedding, the one and only. Now she was planning the big white wedding she had secretly dreamed of every time she put together a wedding for her dear sister. The small wedding with Peter and Charlotte was all she ever needed. To have Jasper as hers, legally, forever and always. That was all she ever wanted. She still had the marriage certificate locked in the safe she kept in the closet hidden behind a bunch of clothes. Though she had to admit, she would love nothing more at the present moment then to share the renewal of this love with her family in attendance.
